I disagree. I often have a need to extract data from websites and I’ll always go to APIs or web feeds first.

It’s incredibly rare that I have needed to screen-scrape in the last ten years. Which is good, because screen-scraping is so fragile — you need to rewrite your code every time the site is redesigned.
